The harm of damaged seals to vertical hydraulic jacks

Time:2025-07-02 Author:gh-jacks

Seals can prevent hydraulic oil leakage from hydraulic jacks. Seals are a very important component of vertical hydraulic jacks. If the seals are damaged, problems can arise one after another.

Damaged seals mean that hydraulic oil will continue to leak, greatly reducing the lifting capacity of the jack. The jack, which could easily lift several tons of heavy objects, may only be able to lift a small part of the weight due to poor sealing and insufficient pressure, or even completely unable to lift. This makes it difficult to carry out tasks such as moving heavy objects during construction and adjusting the position of large equipment in factories, seriously delaying the entire project progress.

Safety hazards also arise. When there is a problem with the seals and hydraulic oil leaks onto the ground, it can make the workplace particularly slippery, and operators may slip and injure themselves if they are not careful. Moreover, due to unstable pressure, heavy objects may suddenly drop during the lifting process, which can easily damage surrounding objects or cause casualties. This is particularly harmful in some small and densely populated maintenance workshops.

If the damaged seals are not dealt with in a timely manner, more impurities will enter the interior of the jack, exacerbating the wear of internal components and requiring frequent replacement of parts, greatly increasing maintenance costs and equipment updates, bringing considerable economic burden to the enterprise.

Therefore, damage to the seal must be highly valued. The operation should be stopped immediately, and the vertical hydraulic jack should be repaired and replaced with new seals in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation of the hydraulic jack.
