If a hydraulic jack is idle for a long time, do we just need to place it in a suitable storage environment for the hydraulic jack? If we analyze this issue rigorously, simply doing so is not enough, as it involves changes in the hydraulic system inside the jack under long-term idle conditions.

The ideal maintenance is to occasionally perform back and forth movements in an unloaded state after storing the hydraulic jack, which can be done 2 to 3 times each time. So what is the purpose of this? There are two reasons:

① Long term idle operation of the jack will generate air inside, and the reciprocating motion is to expel the air, thereby indirectly maintaining the purity of the hydraulic oil.

② If the seal of the hydraulic jack does not work for a long time, it will harden. Occasionally performing several no-load reciprocating runs is to lubricate the seal and avoid hardening.

In addition to hydraulic jacks that have been idle for a long time, it is also important to have a good habit of running the newly purchased hydraulic jack without load, as new jacks must have been idle for a long time. Having such a good habit can ensure that the jack operates more smoothly during use.
